Gujarat: Five killed in road accident

Four policemen were among five persons who were on Thursday killed when a car in which they were travelling collided with a speeding truck on Vataman-Tarapur highway here, police said.

highway here, police said.
The incident occurred near Fathepura village when the car
on its way to Mumbai was hit by the truck coming from the
opposite direction, they said.

According to police, a team of four cops with the son of
an accused in a diamond robbery case of Bhavnagar were coming
to Mumbai for investigations when the accident took place.

All the five car occupants died on the spot, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable
Anirudh Chudasama (48), constables--Hitendra Vaghela (32),
Samir Kotharia (34), Jayanti Chavda (36)-- and son of an
accused Chetan Garashiya (19).

A case has been registered against the truck driver, who
is absconding after the incident, police added.
