Ahmedabad: In less than a week after a Pakistani boat with nine crew members was detained by Border Security Force, another Pakistani boat was on Wednesday taken into custody off Gujarat coast.

The BSF officials seized the boat in Sir Creek, a disputed water stream between the Sindh province of Pakistan and Gujarat state in the Rann of Kutch today, as per the ANI report.

At least, nine sailors have also been apprehended by the security forces.

According to the report, the BSF officials spotted a wooden boat fishing in Indian waters. They challenged the sailors and took them in their custody.

All the nine Pakistani nationals are currently being questioned. A BSF official told media that fishing equipment were recovered from the boat.

The seizure of the boat comes amid the heightened tension between India and Pakistan after the surgical strikes across Line of Control in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

On October 2, Indian Coast Guard ship 'Samudra Pavak' had apprehended a Pakistani boat with nine crew members off Gujarat coast. Coast Guard officials apprehended the crew members travelling in the boat as soon as it entered in the Indian water around 10.15 am.

Two days later, on October 4, an abandoned Pakistani boat was seized by BSF personnel in Gurdaspur district in Punjab.

The abandoned Pakistani boat was seized from Tota Guru post (Dera Baba Nanak post) on Ravi river. However, the officials had then said that they found no suspicious item from the boat and claimed possibility that 'the boat might have got washed away to the Indian side'.

Security agencies have been extra cautious in view of the prevailing security scenario following the surgical strike by Indian army on terror camps across the LoC.
