After Anil Vij, Vijay Goel announces support for Dera Sacha's sports village in Haryana

A day after Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij donated Rs 50 lakh from his discretionary fund to a sect headed by controversial Sikh leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel too offered support to the Dera Sacha chief for setting up sports village in Haryana.

Chandigarh: A day after Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij donated Rs 50 lakh from his discretionary fund to a sect headed by controversial Sikh leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel too offered support to the Dera Sacha chief for setting up sports village in Haryana. 

"Centre will support Dera Sacha Sauda in setting up sports village in Haryana," Vijay Goel announced on Monday. 

A controversy had erupted after the Haryana sports minister announced a donation of Rs 50 lakh, during a visit to Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters at Sirsa on Saturday night. Vij was invited to witness a sporting event named 'Tiranga Rumaal Chu'.

The game has been introduced by controversial Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh who was also present when the minister announced the grant to loud cheers from the audience.
 
The Dera chief said the money would be used to prepare players for the next Olympic games, adding that a sports village would be built soon and the players would be given best training to win gold medals.
