Case registered against Hooda aide in Haryana

The Haryana Police on Wednesday registered a case against Varinder Singh, a close aide of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, for trying to incite violence during the recent Jat agitation, police sources said here.

Chandigarh: The Haryana Police on Wednesday registered a case against Varinder Singh, a close aide of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, for trying to incite violence during the recent Jat agitation, police sources said here.

The FIR against Varinder Singh was registered in Rohtak town.

An audio tape of a phone conversation, allegedly between Varinder Singh and another person, had surfaced recently in which Varinder Singh allegedly tells the other person to activate youth in Sirsa district to take part in the Jat reservation agitation.

As many as 19 people were killed and nearly 200 injured in the violent agitation.
