Dharambir files nomination as BJP nominee

Congress MLA Dharambir Singh, who quit party to contest Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket, on Friday filed his nomination papers from Haryana`s Bhiwani-Mahendergarh parliamentary constituency.

Bhiwani: Congress MLA Dharambir Singh, who recently quit the party to contest the Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket, on Friday filed his nomination papers from Haryana`s Bhiwani-Mahendergarh parliamentary constituency.

BJP state unit president Ram Bilas Sharma and scores of party activists were present during the filing of nomination.

Four-time Congress MLA Singh, who represented Sohna in the Assembly, quit the party after being denied a Lok Sabha ticket from the Bhiwani-Mahendergarh constituency. Congress has fielded sitting MP Shruti Choudhary from the seat.

After filling his nomination, Sharma told party workers that "our vision of agriculture and farmers had been very clear since inception of the Jan Sangh".

"Har khet ko paani, Har haathh ko kaam (irrigation for each field and work to every hand) is our main target," he said.
Sharma flayed the present UPA government, saying its policies were "anti-farmers". Recently sugarcane farmers had to resort to demonstrations in several state as they were not getting adequate prices for their produce, he said.

He assured the farmers that if came to power BJP would give beneficial prices for their produce.

Singh said youths would be given maximum employment opportunities and heavy investments were necessary to boost employment in construction industry, tourism, import-export, agriculture and IT sectors.
