Hisar: The ongoing agitation by Jats, seeking
OBC quota in government jobs, on Monday spread affecting new train
routes even as the protesters rejected the diktat of Khaps to
suspend the stir in view of talks with the state government.
The fortnight-long agitation, which the Jats had agreed to
call off following talks between the Khap leaders and Chief
Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Chandigarh on Saturday, hit
train services on the Hisar-Ludhiana route, officials said.
Rail traffic to Punjab was affected as the route was
blocked by members of the community at Gajuwala railway
station.
Traffic on Hisar-Bhiwani track also remained disrupted as
railway authorities suspended some trains as a precautionary
measure.
