New Delhi: The Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar on Monday said that he wants to congratulate the two sisters who fought of three eve-teasers in a moving bus at Rohtak.
“I want to congratulate the girls who fought back against those eve-teasers,” he told ANI.
He further said, “What has the nation come to? Serious work needs to be done.”
The incident took place on Friday when the two girls showed courage and raised their voice against the three youths who were trying to molest them in a moving bus of Haryana Roadways even as passengers remained mute spectators.
Both Aarti and Pooja alleged that the boys were blowing kisses and throwing slips towards them on which their mobile phone numbers were written.
When the girls objected, the youth made lewd gestures and passed comments.
At one point, the girls thrashed one of the youths with a belt.
The incident came to light after a passenger travelling in the same bus recorded it on the mobile phone.
Shortly after the incident, the state government lauded their bravery and has announced that the girls will be honoured on Republic Day.
