Shimla: Major tragedy averted as bridge collapses in Himachal Pradesh.
A 44-year-old bridge in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh collapsed on Thursday due to rising of water in the river.
The bridge connects Himachal's Nurpur Tehsil with neighbouring Punjab.
Fortunately, no one was hurt as the authorities had advised people to stay away from the bridge after noticing cracks on it.

The incident comes after a British-era bridge on the Savitri river near Mahad collapsed.
So far, 26 bodies have been recovered after two State Transport buses and some other vehicles fell in the river following the bridge collapse on Mumbai-Goa Highway near Mahad in Raigad district on August 2.
