Lucknow: The University of Lucknow (LU) has started the process for admissions into Ph.D programmes for the session 2015.
According to reports, the LU has issued an admission notification, inviting applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program.
The Ph.D program offered by LU is conducted by the Faculty of Arts, Commerce, Science, Education and Fine Arts for the session 2015.
Eligibility:
Those willing to apply for this programme must hold a post-graduate degree with minimum of 55% marks at the Master's degree level for being eligible for admission to the Ph.D programme.
However, for SC/ST and Physically Challenged/ Disabled candidates, the eligibility criterion is – 50% marks at master's degree level in the subject concerned.
Selection procedure:
The selection of candidates for the Ph.D program would be done on two basis – streams of applicants coming through Qualifying Entrance Test for Ph.D program (QET), and, second, those who are exempted from the QET.
Those applicants seeking admission through QET are required to appear for Ph.D entrance test on the date and place fixed by the admission committee and notified by the University.
The candidates are required to bring original PG Marksheet/ appearing certificate, Photo ID and print out of the application form along with a xerox copy of these documents.
No separate admit card would be issued.
An interview will further be conducted for the final selection.

The applicants can apply through online application form available at the official website of the University. Before final submission of application, the candidates are advised to recheck that all the information filled by them are correct before finally pressing the submit button.
The last date for registration is September 24
The last date for submission of the application fee is September 22.
