New Delhi: Union Finance and Defence Minister Arun Jaitley was on Sunday shifted to a special isolation facility at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after doctors advised that he needed a few more days of rest to recover completely from a respiratory infection.

Jaitley was shifted to AIIMS from the Max Hospital in South Delhi. Doctors at the hospital said that though he has recovered satisfactorily from respiratory infection, he has been advised further rest for a few more days to avoid any re-occurrence of the infection.

Jaitley was admitted to the Max Hospital in Saket last week for a routine check-up following his recent operation for diabetes.

He had successfully undergone a planned elective laparoscopic procedure for diabetes management earlier this month.
