New Delhi: With crucial Bills like the Land Acquisition, Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, Coal Allocation and the Insurance Law (Amendment) Bill lined up for passage in Parliament, BJP on Monday night issued a whip to all its MPs to ensure their presence in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for this week.

According to sources, the party issued the whip to ensure passage of all the crucial bills, seeking to replace the related ordinances promulgated by the Government recently.

"A whip has been issued to all party Members in both the Houses for the entire week up to Saturday," a top BJP source told PTI here tonight.

Starting with the Land Acquisition Bill, which is expected to be taken up in Lok Sabha tomorrow for passage, the Government is bracing itself for the Opposition's demand for voting and division in all these crucial Bills.

Sources said that the Mines and Minerals Bill, besides the Coal Allocation Bill would be taken up for consideration and their passage in the Rajya Sabha tomorrow.

The crucial Insurance Amendment Bill seeking to raise the FDI ceiling in insurance sector to 49 per cent from current 26 per cent limit is also likely to be taken up in Rajya Sabha later this week, they said.

The discussion on the controversial Land Acquisition Bill has already started in the Lok Sabha and it will be put to voting after the discussions on it were over by tomorrow.
