BJP sends stern message to Pakistani artistes working in India — STOP having double standards on terrorism

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday called on Pakistani artistes working in the Indian industry to stop having double standards on terrorist attacks and urged them to speak against terrorism mushrooming on their own soil.

BJP spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh said that they (Pakistani artists) will do good for their country by condemning terrorism, as it will also show to the world that there are voices in Pakistan who don`t want terrorism to be part of the tool of their state politics.

"A larger section of the Indian film fraternity believes that the Pakistani artists working and earning in India should condemn terrorism and rightly, so because you cannot have double standards on terrorism. You just cannot condemn what has happened in Paris and refuse to condemn or take note of what is happening in Uri," he added.

A day after actor Fawad Khan talked about coming together to build "a more peaceful world", fellow Pakistani actor Mahira Khan Saturday issued a statement with a prayer for peace.

However, both the actors have been under criticism after the Uri attack and their detractors have been asking them to take a stand.

Meanwhile, Indian actor Ajay Devgn has said he would not share any artistic space with Pakistani actors in the current situation, while director Farah Khan, has said that she would prefer to cast "somebody from my own country".
