Book on LK Advani to be released without his consent?

New Delhi: Veteran BJP leader LK Advani has distanced himself from the publication of a book on his life by his ex-aide Vishwambhar Srivastava.

Advani's office released a statement: “This book does not have the consent of L K Advani and has been published against his wishes."

The development has surprised the author of the book "Advani Ke Saath 32 Saal" (32 Years with Advani) as he claims that the manuscript was sent to the 88-year-old leader and that he had not expressed any reservations about the contents of the book.

Vishwambhar Srivastava had served as Advani's aide for over three decades.

As per NDTV, the book covers Advani's political life from the Ram Janmabhoomi movement to his opposition to BJP decision to pick Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

After Modi won a stunning mandate to become the Prime Minister, Advani was relegated to a advisory committee called the "marg-darshak mandal".
