CISF, NSG, NDRF get new Directors General

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved new Directors General (DGs) for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), says a government release.

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved new Directors General (DGs) for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), says a government release.

The committee has cancelled the appointment of P.C. Thakur, an Indian Police Service officer of Gujrat cadre from 1979 batch, as the Director General of Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guards.

According to the release, O.P. Singh, a 1983-batch Indian Police Service officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, currently working as the NDRF Director General, will be the next chief of the CISF.

Sudhir Pratap Singh, also a 1983-batch IPS officer from Rajasthan cadre, will be heading the NSG, in addition to his current assignment of Additional DG of CRPF.

The Appointments Committee also approved R.K. Pachnanda, a West Bengal cadre IPS officer of 1983 batch, to head the NDRF. He would be moving from his current position as the Additional DG of CISF.

All appointments are effective from the date of these officers assuming office until their superannuation.
