Darbhanga engineers' murder: SHO suspended as Nitish faces Opposition's ire

Almost twenty four after the murder of two engineers in Darbhanga district of Bihar, the police suspended Bahera Station House Officer (SHO) Ramashankar Singh on Sunday.

Patna: Almost twenty four after the murder of two engineers in Darbhanga district of Bihar, the police suspended Bahera Station House Officer (SHO) Ramashankar Singh on Sunday.

The move comes following the murder of two engineers of a private construction company on Saturday.

The two engineers were shot dead by two motorcycle-borne attackers.

"The two engineers were killed near Shivram village under Baheri police station," a district police official said, adding both were engaged in road repair work.

Police have detained six suspects and an interrogation is on to nab the real culprit.

Police have not ascertained exact reason behind the attack but extortion is believed to be one the of the reasons behind the incident.

Nitish under attack from Opposition:

The incident has given an opportunity to the opposition parties in the state, who are terming the incident as return of 'jungle raj' in the state. 

BJP leader Prem Kumar said that the deteriorating law and order situation in the state was a reminder of 'jungle raj' days in the state.
