New Delhi: According to latest reports, mild tremors were felt on Monday in several parts of north India including Delhi/NCR after a strong 7.2-magnitude quake struck in Tajikistan.
The quake hit around 1:20 PM on Monday.
U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has confirmed the 7.2-magnitude earthquake report.
Reportedly, tremors were felt in Jammu and Kashmir as well.
The epicentre of the quake was 111 km (65 miles) southwest of Karakul, the USGS said.
Earlier, in October this year, a strong earthquake in Afghanistan had claimed at least 280 lives.
