Kolkata: Riniki Sarma, wife of former Assam minister Himanshu Sarma was on Tuesday grilled by Enforcement Directorate (ED) here in connection with the multi-crore Saradha scam.
Sarma was questioned on the business deals which she had entered into with Sudipto Sen, chief of the tainted chit fund group and was asked to submit details of the transactions, an ED official told PTI.
She owned some TV channels in the north-east and had taken money from Saradha group to air its advertisements, the official said.
According to the official, the ED wants to verify whether money was paid by Saradha group without actually airing those advertisements in its entirety or not.
