Espionage case: Third Pakistani spy arrested from Rajasthan

Jaipur: Hours after Delhi Police detained Pakistan High Commission official and arrested two other Indian spies on alleged espionage charges and working for Pakistan's ISI, a third spy was on Thursday arrested by the Rajasthan police.

As per the report, Shoaib, a Jodhpur-based man, is said to be spy ring run by Pakistani high commission staffer, was absconding since two other spies were arrested early today.

He will be brought to Delhi for further investigation.

Earlier today, sensitive defence documents on the deployments and strength of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Army along the India-Pakistan border, especially in Gujarat and the Sir Creek area were allegedly recovered from two arrested spies and a Pakistani diplomat.

Mehmood Akhtar, a staff member at the Pakistani high commission, was held today on charges of running a spy network following an investigation.

While Akhtar has been asked to return to Pakistan along with his family in 48 hours, the arrested spies were brought to Delhi for a probe.

The Delhi Police said the documents recovered from the spies have serious implications on national security adding further that the interrogation of the three men revealed that Pakistan allegedly wants specific information on the military deployments on the Indian side of the border in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

In another revelation, the Delhi Police said that the Pakistan High Commission (based in Delhi) was trying to get in touch with government officials in connection with today's arrests.
