New Delhi: Congress said on Tuesday that government had reached out to it over pending bills including Goods and Services Tax and the party will take a view after hearing the proposals on its demands.

Answering queries from reporters about on GST bill, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad said the party will hold internal consultations on the issue.

"There is also request from the government that they want to sit with us. There will also be all-party meeting. We have time to think.. how much will they agree (on GST) and how much they will not..When we sit with the government, that time we'll see to which all demands of ours they agree with," said Azad.

The GST Bill is pending in the Rajya Sabha where the government lacks majority and the Congress is the single-largest party.

Congress has been keen on capping GST rate at 18 percent, deletion of the provision which allows imposition of one percent tax by additional levy and an independent dispute resolution mechanism.

The monsoon session of parliament session will begin on July 18.
