The government on Wednesday said it is ready for a discussion into the alleged stealing of secret official documents from ministries like Petroleum for peddling to corporates.

New Delhi: The government on Wednesday said it is ready for a discussion into the alleged stealing of secret official documents from ministries like Petroleum for peddling to corporates.

Raising the issue as soon as Rajya Sabha met for the day, Naresh Agarwal (SP) said official papers from several ministries were being leaked to corporates and the government has so far arrested only junior level officials while "saving big people".

To this, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the government was ready for discussion on any issue including the one raised by Agarwal.

Chairman Hamid Ansari asked the member to give a proper notice for a discussion.

So far 14 persons including two oil ministry junior staff and five executives of top corporates like Reliance Industries, Cairn India, Essar Oil and Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group have been arrested in the corporate espionage case.
