Islamabad: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will hold talks with Pakistan Prime Minister's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday, on the margins of what is called the 5th Ministerial Conference on Heart of Asia Istanbul Process.

Ahead of his meeting with Swaraj, Aziz said, “My expectations are good and positive from talks.”

The External Affairs on Tuesday attended a dinner hosted by Aziz in honour of the visiting delegates of the Heart of Asia conference.

Aziz greeted Swaraj warmly and both engaged in a brief conversation. Aziz later sat next to Swaraj.

Swaraj, who reached Islamabad on Tuesday said, the relationship between India and Pakistan should be better and that she will hold talks to find ways to improve bilateral ties.

The Union Minister's visit comes after talks between the National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan in Bangkok on Sunday, where they discussed terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir and a range of key bilateral issues apart from agreeing to carry forward the "constructive" engagement.

Swaraj is expected to take this process forward during her talks with Aziz. She is also expected to call on Sharif on the sidelines of the conference today.

The high-ranking delegations from 14 participating states, 17 supporting countries and 12 international and regional organisations are participating in the two-day conference.
