New Delhi: In the wake of the huge row ignited by Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti 's hate speech, veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani on Wednesday said every parliamentarian should speak appropriately in public.

"It is expected from every parliamentarian that they speak properly," Advani told media persons here.

However, refusing to soften his stance, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O Brien warned that the Parliament won't be allowed to run until the Minister tendered her resignation.

"Inappropriate language used by Niranjan Jyoti. Until she tenders resignation, Rajya Sabha will not function," he said.

Jyoti's remarks reportedly came during a rally in the national capital on Monday, where she urged voters to choose between candidates in the city's Shyam Nagar area.

Following her remarks which created an uproar in political circles Jyoti clarified that she did not mean to target any particular person or party but was targeting separatists.
