New Delhi: The Supreme Court witnessed high drama while it was hearing the case concerning assault on students and journalists at the Patiala House Court.

Advocate Rajeev Tadac, who practices in the apex court, shouted 'Vande Mataram' during the hearing, to which Judges responded, 'Is this what happens in top court'?

Tadac later sought forgiveness for obstructing court proceedings, in response to which court agreed to pardon him.

The SC then directed the Delhi Police to ensure adequate protection to the litigants and journalists

SC said that only lawyer concerned with JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar's case will be present in the court room for hearing today

Counsel for Delhi Police assures SC that enough security arrangements have been made for today's hearing at Patiala House Court.

Later talking to reporters, Rajeev Tadac said that he is not ashamed of what he did inside the court, adding that he does agree that he should not have raised slogans inside the court.

Students, teachers and scribes covering the hearing of sedition case against JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar were assaulted in the Patiala House court complex on Monday, drawing condemnation from several quarters.
