Mehbooba Mufti should raise 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan before taking oath as J&K CM: Shiv Sena

New Delhi: After Aam Aadmi Party and National Conference, the Shiv Sena has also taunted BJP asking whether PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti will raise 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan.

An editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamna' said that given the 'nationalist' sentiment in the country, Mehnooba Mufti should raise Bharat Matai Ki Jai slogan before assuming power as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

Referring to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement that efforts should be made to establish the salutation of `Bharat Mata ki Jai`across the globe, party spokesperson Sanjay Raut added that the mission should start from Kashmir.

Raut stressed that salutations like Jai Hind or Bharat Mata Ki Jai are symbols of our nationalism.

“This feeling comes from within,” he said, adding that if Mehbooba Mufti has changed her mind after joining hands with the BJP then she should raise the slogans before she takes oath as CM.

The Sena leader also alleged that Mehbooba has been sympathetic to Afzal Guru and maintains relationship with the separatists.

Earlier, AAP leader and Delhi minister Kapil Mishra had posed a similar query to BJP president Amit Shah.

"Does Mehbooba Mufti believe in Bharat Mata ki Jai? If not, will the BJP form government with her? Will she raise slogans saying Afzal Guru was a terrorist? If not, then what is the compulsion for you (BJP) to form a govt with her?" Mishra had asked in an open letter to Shah.'

Former J&K CM Omar Abdullah had also tweeted on the topic. “Is Mehbooba Mufti also going to be asked to chant #BharatMataKiJai as a condition for Govt formation in J&K?” Omar had asked in a tweet.
