New Delhi: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Wednesday said that a minister who has committed impropriety cannot continue in office, calling for External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to step down in light of the Lalitgate scandal.
"An impartial investigation is the immediate need of the hour. A minister who has committed impropriety cannot continue as minister. Therefore she (Swaraj) has to step down," CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat said.
"What is the Prime Minister doing? The Prime Minister's new slogan seems to be 'I see no evil, I hear no evil and therefore will speak about evil'. That is the message that he is sending," she added.
