New Delhi: Hundreds of Congress supporters thronged the office of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Saturday here immediately after Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi reached the party headquarters.

They were granted bail by the Patiala House Court in the National Herald case earlier on Saturday.

Roads witnessed heavy traffic jams and hundreds of security personnel and Delhi Police constables were deployed to control the situation.

Slogans were raised in support of Rahul and Sonia Gandhi by the party workers.

The workers celebrated the bail to the Gandhis and four others, playing patriotic songs.

Congress leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Jagdish Tytler were among others at the venue.

Slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi were also raised by the Congress supporters to condemn the alleged political vendetta.

The Congress workers also protested in the neighbouring Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, burning effigies of Modi.
