The new chief minister-led grouping now has an effective strength of 58 MLAs in the House.

On Wednesday, Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa summoned the seventh session of the assembly from February 25-27.

Pul was sworn in as the eighth chief minister of the state on February 19 after over three months of political instability in the state.

Eleven BJP MLAs and two independents are also backing Chief Minister Kalikho Pul.

The Supreme Court recently upheld the judgement of Gauhati High Court in resignation of two Congress MLAs - Gabriel Denang Wangsu and Wanglin Sawin - which was accepted by former Speaker Nabam Rebia.
