NIA officer Tanzil Ahmed murder case: Police arrest two accused

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh has finally arrested two persons in connection with the high-profile murder of NIA officer Mohammad Tanzil Ahmad.

New agency ANI reported on Tuesday that duo, Jainul and Reyaan, have been arrested as accused in the case.

Hundreds of people were questioned by the police to crack the sensational case. Last Friday, a section of the media had claimed arrests in the case, however, the police later denied such a development.

Tanzil Ahmed, probing terror cases related to Indian Mujahideen, was shot dead on April 3 by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants who also wounded his wife when they were returning home from a wedding near UP's Bijnor town.

The police had suspected some "personal matter" may have been the reason behind the killing. However, a formal announcement by the police is awaited.
