Notorious arms supplier with links to Maoists nabbed in Delhi

A notorious inter-state arms supplier with links to Left-wing extremists (Maoists) of Jharkhand area and carrying a Rs 1 lakh bounty on his head has been arrested, the police said here on Tuesday.

New Delhi: A notorious inter-state arms supplier with links to Left-wing extremists (Maoists) of Jharkhand area and carrying a Rs 1 lakh bounty on his head has been arrested, the police said here on Tuesday.

Raj Kumar Yadav, a resident of Bihar's Samastipur district, was nabbed by the Crime Branch sleuths from Dwarka area of west Delhi on Monday, a police official said.

A sophisticated pistol, along with three live cartridges, was recovered from his possession.

"He supplied hand-grenades to dreaded criminal Vikash Dagar to eliminate his rival Krishan Pahalwan through Harcharan Sardar. He also has contacts with the Left-wing extremists in Jharkhand area and claims to be their source of arms and ammunition," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav told reporters.

"Investigation regarding his contacts with other gangsters and Left-wing extremist groups in Jharkhand is under progress," the officer added.
