Now, AAP demands 'dope test' on parliamentarians

New Delhi: Defending party MP Bhagwant Mann, who is alleged to have come drunk to Parliament, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday launched a fierce counter-attack and demanded that all MPs be subjected to a dope test before they enter the hallowed precincts of Parliament.

Addressing a joint press conference with party leaders Sanjay Singh and Ashutosh, Bhagwant Mann dismissed the allegation as false and said that all MPs should undergo a dope test.

Supporting Mann, Sanjay Singh said that if Mann did come drunk to Parliament then action should be taken against him but the same yardstick should be applied for BJP and Congress MPs who reportedly come drunk to Parliament.

Singh added that a breath analyser should be installed at Parliament gates to catch those who come to Parliament drunk.

On the probe being held against him for shooting a video of Parliament, Mann said, “I explained my stand to Lok Sabha Speaker, she said what I did was not right and I should apologise.”

“So I tendered an apology in writing saying that it was unintentional, I was only trying to make an educational video,” he added.

The Punjab MP also tried to drag Prime Minister into the controversy by demanding that his decision to allow a probe committee from Pakistan visit Pathankot air base should also be probed by the committee looking into his case.

“Is shooting a video a bigger crime that allowing ISI into the Pathankot base?” he said.
