Pathankot: An explosion was heard from the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot where combing operations are underway and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is expected to give a briefing on the ground situation at the under-attack base.

The operation against the terrorists at the air base entered its fourth day today as security forces continue to carry out combing operations to smoke out any remaining terrorist.

Five terrorists have been killed so far but since uncertainty reigns over the number of infiltrators, operations are expected to continue until the base is declared safe.

Parrikar reached Pathankot today to take stock of the current situation and he was accompanied by IAF chief Air Marshal Arup Raha and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh.
