New Delhi: Senior Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athawale on Tuesday forgot to mention his name while taking oath as Minister of State - but was quickly corrected by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Athawale, a Rajya Sabha member from Maharashtra, started reading out the oath of office and secrecy , but without pronouncing his name. The President corrected him, saying: "Apna naam boliye (speakout your name)".

Athawale paused for a moment and corrected himself saying "Sorry, sorry" and completed his oath-taking.
