Delhi: A day ahead of the Congress Working Committee meet, party vice-president Rahul Gandhi has reportedly said that he was running the party.
As per a report by India Today news channel, Rahul is supposed to have said that his mother Sonia Gandhi was Congress president but he was the one was was running the party
Rahul apparently said this at a meeting on Monday with Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leaders of states where the party is in Opposition.
Meanwhile, media reports said that Rahul may not be elevated as party president any time soon.
As per reports, Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party's highest decision-making body, is not in favour of Rahul taking charge as the party president in near future.
This means that Sonia will continue as party president.
Reports also said that any decision on Rahul is likely to be taken after Bihar Assembly elections.
The CWC is scheduled to be held tomorrow.
