Rameswaram: The Sri Lankan naval men on Tuesday offered treatment to a fisherman after he was stung by a poisonous fish while fishing in the Palk Strait.
The boat owner Benitto told the fisheries department officials that the fisherman Gubendran was seen unconscious by the Navy personnel and rushed to the boat to help him.
They noticed that he had been stung by the thorn of a fish, fishery department sources said.
They removed the thorn and gave him intravenous glucose. After he regained consciousness he was sent back to Rameswaram, the sources said.
