A meeting called by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) here Tuesday decided that a team of religious leaders and seers would approach the government for facilitating the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Haridwar: A meeting called by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) here Tuesday decided that a team of religious leaders and seers would approach the government for facilitating the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Participants at the meet called by the Hindu right wing body discussed the legal aspects vis-a-vis their demand for the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya. They said that thousands of people every year visit Ayodhya as they identify the town with Lord Ram.

The discussion today, on the second day of the meet, was chaired by Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Swami Krishnacharya. Speaking at the meeting, Swami Avdheshanand Giri said that people across the country were committed to the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, Swami Govind Dev Giri said that with Prime Minister Narendra Modi having carried copies of the Bhagvad Gita as a present on his foreign tours, the government should include the holy text in the academic curricula in the country.
