Jammu: As many as 3,000 flats for Kashmiri
migrants being constructed in Nagrota area will be ready
by August, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Revenue, Relief and
Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said Friday.
Out of 4,218 flats being constructed at a cost of Rs 294
crore at Jagti, 3,000 housing units will be ready by August,
he said.
The township will have facilities like roads, health
centre, community hall, educational institution, sewerage,
drainage, parks, drinking water and electricity, Bhalla said
after reviewing the ongoing construction work in Nagrota,
about 15 kms from here.
The Centre, which has earlier approved Rs 294 crore for
the construction, has given its nod to a revised proposal of
Rs 321.98 crore for construction of additional accommodation
under Phase-II, which included old-age home, common facilities
centre, shopping complex, post office and bank facilities, he
said.
Bhalla said the Government has also approved Rs 7.75
crore for purchase of equipment for health centre and
furniture for educational institutions in the township.
For proper rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants, the
Centre has sanctioned a Rs 1618.40-crore package, he added.
