Srinagar: Terrorists snatch at least five self-loading rifles from a police picket in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Monday.

The incident took place in Samnoo village of DH Pora in Kulgam district.

According to police, five SLRs, 10 magazines and 250 rounds of ammunition have been taken away form the guard room of a minority picket in Samboo D.H. Pora village.

"A manhunt has been launched to trace the militants and the guards posted at the minority picket are being questioned", a senior police officer said.

The development comes hours after terrorists tried to attack an army camp in Baramulla on Sunday.

A BSF jawan was martyred in the attack and two terrorists were killed.

It is believed that the associates of the two slain terrorists managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

A search operation was launched following the attack.

The martyred soldier was given the Guard of Honour on Monday.
