BSF SI killed, civilian injured in Pak firing

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani forces on Tuesday opened fire on a BSF patrol killing a sub-inspector.

Jammu: In yet another ceasefire violation,
Pakistani forces on Tuesday opened fire on a BSF patrol killing a
sub-inspector and injuring a civilian along the Line of
Control in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"There was a firing from across the border (Pakistan)
on a patrolling party of BSF along the International Border
(IB) close to Ghallar post in Samba district at around 1600
hours today," DIG, BSF, (G Branch) J S Oberoi said.

In the firing, one BSF Sub-Inspector (SI) S P Rana was
critically injured besides a civilian Subash Kumar, he said
adding Rana was shifted to district hospital at Samba where he
succumbed to his injuries.
