Businessman shot dead by militants in J&K

A 40 year-old businessman was on Tuesday shot dead by suspected militants in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, officials said.

Srinagar: A 40 year-old businessman was on Tuesday shot dead by suspected militants in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, officials said.
Aijaz Ahmad Shah was shot by unidentified pistol-borne militants inside his house at village Shubdani-Newa, 35km from here, around 11.30 am, they said, adding the trader was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The motive behind Shah`s killing was not known immediately, they added.

However, sources said that investigations have revealed that a top Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Rehman Bhai was killed in an encounter with security forces at Shah`s house in October last year.
