Ceasefire violation: Pakistan troops fire at Indian posts in J&K`s Mendhar district

In yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistan Rangers fired at Indian posts in Jammu Kashmir`s Mendhar district late Wednesday night at around 12:30 am.

Jammu: In yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistan Rangers fired at Indian posts in Jammu Kashmir`s Mendhar district late Wednesday night at around 12:30 am.

The Indian jawans retaliated to the Pakistan provoked firing will full vigour. Both the sides exchanged fire till 2:00 am.

Fortunately, no Indian soldier was injured in the gunfire.

Earlier, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire twice on Wednesday by opening heavy fire on several Indian posts along the Line of Control and the International Border in J&K, leaving an Army jawan injured.
"Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked small arms and automatic weapons firing on Indian posts along LoC in Bhimber gali (BG) sector of Poonch district around 1000 hours", a Defence spokesman said.

Earlier, Pakistani Rangers resorted to heavy firing with mortar shells, small arms and automatic weapons on five BoPs and civilian areas along the IB in Arnia-RS Pura areas in Jammu district from 2145 hours late last night," a BSF officer said.
The violation comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday accused Pakistan of indulging in a proxy war killing innocent people in India.
