New Delhi: Delhi Government today
enhanced the maximum monthly financial assistance to displaced
Kashmiri Pandit families from existing Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000
while monetary aid for individuals has been raised by Rs 250
to Rs 1,250.
The Delhi Government raised the ceiling of monthly
financial assistance per family to Rs 5,000 from existing Rs
4,000 for a family of four or more, Chief Minister Sheila
Dikshit said.
The enhanced assistance has been approved with
retrospective effect from July 1, 2009. The decision was taken
at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Dikshit.
The government has decided to hike the monthly
financial assistance per member of the family to Rs 1,250 from
existing Rs 1,000, she said.
Dikshit said at present 3,624 Kashmiri migrant
families are being given cash assistance by Delhi Government.
The financial assistance for such families was
started in the year 1990.
