An explosion took place inside a school building, designated as a polling station, in Kangan Assembly segment of Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours today.

Srinagar: An explosion took place inside a school building, designated as a polling station, in Kangan Assembly segment of Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours today.

An explosion was heard at around 3 AM today at Bobsipora in Kangan area of Ganderbal district, resulting in damage to Government Middle School building, a police spokesman said.

"A bomb disposal squad was sent to the site. However, no explosive substance was found," the spokesman said.

He said police is investigating the cause of explosion.
