Srinagar: A host of Jammu and Kashmir ministers have been camping in various parts of the state to meet the people and bring down the tempers besides asking the cadres of ruling National Conference and Congress to ensure restoration of peace in troubled areas.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has asked his entire team of ministers to fan out to various parts of the state, including trouble-torn North and South Kashmir, besides posting senior ministers including Abdul Rahim Rather in Jammu to oversee the arrangements in the temple city for Amarnath pilgrims.

"We have been kept here to ensure that all arrangements are in place and that none of our pilgrims face any problems," Rather said over phone from Jammu.

The state Chief Minister has kept a senior Cabinet Minister Qamar Ali Akhoon on move on the Jammu-Srinagar highway to ensure smooth passage of the yatris and supply of essentials for the people of the valley.

"I am at present in Ramban and holding talks with the pilgrims. There is clear directions from the Chief Minister that no one should be facing any problems and we are all at the job," Akhoon said.

Tal Mohiuddin, another senior minister in Omar's cabinet, has been shuttling between Baramulla and Sopore in North Kashmir and meeting prominent citizens of the areas. "I have requested them to maintain calm and peace besides help the administration in restoring normalcy," the Minister said.

He said the cadres of NC and Congress have been asked to step out and spread the message of peace after violence in various areas.

Another minister Sakina Itoo has been camping in South Kashmir and meeting a cross-section of people to restore normalcy in the area.
