J&K polls: Doda records 79% polling, Kishtwar 76%

Doda and Kishtwar have recorded the highest 79.06 per cent and 76.45 percent polling respectively among all 15 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir where elections took place in the first phase.

New Delhi: Doda and Kishtwar have recorded the highest 79.06 per cent and 76.45 percent polling respectively among all 15 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir where elections took place in the first phase.

As per a report available with the Home Ministry, Doda had seen 72.97% polling and Kishtwar had seen 74.44% of polling in 2008 Assembly elections.

Other constituencies which saw high turn out of polls yesterday include Nobra (75.6%), Bhaderwah (71.13 %) and Kangan (69.96 %).

In 2008 elections, Nobra 74.24%, Bhaderwah 65.55% and Kangan 59.46% polling took place.

Inderwal has recorded 69.43% (72.75 per cent in 2008), Ramban 67.25% and Banihal 67.8 per cent (67.05%).

In Jharkhand, the highest polling was recorded in Bhavnathpur 69% (63% in 2009), Hussainabad 67% (60 per cent in 2009), Garhwa 64% (62%) and Panki 63% (59%).
