Srinagar: Some parts of Kashmir Valley on Friday
received snow and rain with minimum temperature dipping below
the freezing point at famous skiing resort of Gulmarg.
Rains lashed the summer capital and other major towns of
north Kashmir.
The skiing resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district
received heavy snowfall, MeT officials said.
Over 2.5 inches snowfall was recorded in Gulmarg, they
said, adding that the minimum temperature plunged to minus 2.2
degree Celsius.
Srinagar received 0.8 mm rain.
Leh town of Ladakh division recorded a minimum
temperature of minus 4.0 deg C.
Kashmir Valley witnesses four months of chilling winter
season beginning November with day temperatures frequently
slipping below the freezing point.
