Maha yagya performed to mark the start of Amarnath Yatra

Amarnath Yatra, Baba Amarnath Niyas, a conglomeration of
several social, trade and religious organisations, on Sunday organised a Maha Yagya in Jammu.

A Maha Rudra Absheikh Yagya was organised here at
Ranbeshwar temple to seek the blessing the lord Shiva before
commencement of the annual yatra for two months period in
South Kashmir Himalayas from June 15, Baba Amarnath Niyas
president, Surinder Aggrawal said here today.
"This Yagya is aimed to eradicate evils and hurdles in
the path of the yatra," he said adding, "we reiterate our
resolve to start yatra from June 15.
While the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) headed by its
Chairman N N Vohra, who is also Governor of the state, has
announced the start of Yatra from June 29 after 15-day cut due
to the bad weather conditions, Niyas has decided to start
yatra from June 15 for 2 months period, he said.

"We are ready for arrest, if the government stops us. We
will start yatra on that date only," Aggrawal said.

Addressing devotees, state president, VHP, Rama Kant
Dubey said, "This yagya would give us positive energies in
order to fulfil our aim to conduct two months long yatra to
the cave shrine".
