Hitting out at J&K Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh for his absence in Legislative Assembly, NC member Devender Singh Rana on Wednesday charged him of taking the House lightly.

Jammu: Hitting out at J&K Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh for his absence in Legislative Assembly, NC member Devender Singh Rana on Wednesday charged him of taking the House lightly.

"Where is your Deputy CM? He is taking the House lightly. Is any other engagement more important for him than this House?," he asked while the other NC members were protested against the Mufti Sayeed government over discrimination in distribution of power sector funds.

Earlier, the ministers had told the House that the Deputy Chief Minister will come and make a statement over the issue.

"We were told that Dy CM will come and make a statement in the House. But he failed to turn-up. Where is he?", Rana questioned.

Seeking reply from Singh over the issue, Rana said, "Is he above this House? We have been hearing for past one hour that he is coming and will give statement in the House, nobody has turned up. This is insult to the House".

Later Minister for Forests, Bali Bhagat and Minister of State, Sunil Sharma assured the agitated members that there would be no discrimination with any region and funds would be released to Kashmir region as well.
