Over 1600 SIMs seized, two arrested

Two persons were arrested after over 1,600 SIMs, that were activated using fake documents, were recovered from mobile phone stores during raids by police in Jalaun district.

in Jalaun district, officials said here on Sunday.

Acting on a tip off, the Special Operation Groups of Jalaun police raided Suyash Mobile Agency and Baba Mobile yesterday and recovered 1,620 SIMs activated on fake names and addresses, they said.

150 photocopies of fake identity proof, photographs and application forms were also recovered from the two shops, they said adding two persons, identified as Santosh Maurya and Umesh Kumar, were arrested in this connection.
