Srinagar: Pakistan violated ceasefire twice overnight by resorting to firing and shelling along the Line of Control in Jammu region's Rajouri district, said the Indian Army on Tuesday.

"The shelling and firing in the Naushera sector began at 8.30 pm on Monday night and continued till 1.30 am today (Tuesday)," defence sources told news agency IANS.

"They used 82 mm mortars and automatics. No damage or casualties were reported."

One Indian soldier was killed when Pakistani troops started firing in the same area on Sunday.
