Srinagar: An MLA of Opposition National Panthers Party was on Monday marshalled out from the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly after he disrupted the proceedings of the House over the issue of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops.

Balwant Singh Mankotia raised the issue of ceasefire violations by Pakistan and the difficulties faced by people living in border areas.
However, Speaker Mubarak Gul asked the MLA to allow the obituary references and bring in a motion for discussion on the issue.

Mankotia remained adamant and stormed into the Well of the House accusing the state government of neglecting and ignoring the suffering of border people.
The speaker then directed the marshals of the assembly to take out Mankotia from the House.

"His behavior has been worst. I appeal to people of his constituency to teach him a lesson," Gul remarked.
